Thanks Volunteers of America Southeast!
On September 09, 2008 Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge received a visit from Wallace Davis, President and CEO of Volunteers of America Southeast, which serves the Alabama area.
Davis was in town to bring much needed supplies to Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge in the wake of the recent hurricane.
Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge affiliate, like-wise, jumped right in after Hurricane Katrina to assist the New Orleans affiliate as well as our surrounding areas. This time, another affiliate is lending a hand to us. Wallace Davis personally came down with a moving truck filled with goods such as water, gas cans, a variety of juices, tuna, crackers, paper towels, and other consumable items. The truck unloaded at Oak Park Plaza, 947 North Bon Marche Drive, our housing facility for the elderly.
Hurricane Relief Needed!!!
Hurricane Gustav devastated many people. Its strong winds tore through our Louisiana communities, damaging our residential properties of the people we serve as well as offices. It is Volunteers of America's mission to bring support to those in need. We are asking for your support to aid the people we serve.
We serve families who are homeless, shelter abused and neglected children and youth, house low-income elderly individuals and empower the disabled. If you could give a financial donation to Volunteers of America, you will help restore any one of our damaged facilities to their pre-storm condition. We need your help now-more than ever. Come Into The Living Room
Approaching their one year anniversary of since opening, Volunteers of America’s The Living Room is a little known secret in Lafayette, Louisiana. The program, a contract through Mental Health Services, supports individuals who are experiencing acute psychiatric crisis, but don’t require hospitalization.
